NSW Selective Writing Practice ("the Service") lets students practise writing under exam-style conditions and receive automated marking and feedback based on the NSW Selective High School Placement Test writing criteria. The Service is operated by coaching.direct ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to these terms.

You must provide accurate details when signing up and keep your login secure. If the student is under 18, a parent or guardian should set up and supervise the account and accepts these terms on the student's behalf.

New accounts include a free trial of 3 marked tests. After the trial, continued marking requires a subscription. The Standard plan (A$9.90 per month) provides unlimited timed tests with marking and feedback. The Premium plan (A$14.90 per month) adds coached Practice mode, in which an AI tutor gives on-demand guidance while you write. Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through our payment provider (Stripe), renew automatically each month, and can be cancelled at any time - cancellation stops future renewals; the current paid month is not refunded. Prices may change with reasonable notice.

Refunds are at our discretion and not guaranteed. Where we do issue a refund, the payment-processing fees charged by our payment provider (Stripe) are non-refundable and will be deducted from the amount returned to you.

To keep the Service reliable and affordable, marking is subject to a fair-use limit of up to 10 marked tests per day per account, including for subscribers. Longer pieces take more processing to mark, so a longer test may count as two toward this daily limit. "Unlimited" practice means unlimited within this daily fair-use limit. Coached Practice sessions (Premium) are separately limited to up to 5 per day per account. We may adjust these limits where needed to prevent misuse.

Marks and feedback are generated automatically using artificial intelligence and are intended as practice guidance only. They are an estimate, not an official result, and do not guarantee any particular outcome in the real NSW Selective test or any other exam.

The writing topics in this Service are our own original prompts. They are not real NSW Selective test items, but they are written to be similar in style and format to the publicly available official samples. This Service is independent and is not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by the NSW Department of Education or Cambridge University Press & Assessment.

The official sample and practice tests are published by the NSW Department of Education and remain their (and Cambridge's) copyright, licensed for personal, non-commercial use. We link to them so you can practise the genuine samples at the source: NSW selective high school practice tests.

You agree to submit the student's own original writing and to use the Service for genuine practice. You must not attempt to disrupt, overload, copy, or misuse the Service, or use it to submit content that is unlawful or offensive.

Writing you submit is stored so we can mark it, show your history, and track your progress. Results are private by default; a result is only made viewable by others if you choose to create a share link, which you can do at your discretion. We do not sell your personal information.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the Service or by email, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
